Details

This fingering weight shawl is knit sideways starting at the little edge and increasing toward the wide edge. One main color is featured throughout all the garter stitch stripes. Eight contrast colors are used for painting the waves in stockinette stitch. The stitches are very easy to knit with I-cord edges framing the wavy triangular shape. This design is perfect for using mini skeins, leftover bits of fingering weight yarn, or self-striping yarns.

Care

To help your handmade yarn look its best for years to come, we recommend treating it with a little extra care.

  • Hand wash in cool or lukewarm water using a gentle wool wash.
  • Avoid rubbing, wringing or twisting the fibres.
  • Gently squeeze out excess water and roll in a towel to remove moisture.
  • Reshape your finished item and lay it flat to dry, away from direct heat or sunlight.
  • Store your yarn and finished projects in a cool, dry place.

Although our yarns are professionally dyed and thoroughly rinsed, some colours—particularly rich reds, deep blues and highly saturated shades—may release a small amount of excess dye during the first wash. This is perfectly normal and should not affect the finished project.

Information

Every item from The Little Grey Girl is thoughtfully handmade or hand-dyed in small batches. Because of this, each piece is unique and may vary slightly from the photographs shown.

Hand-dyed yarn may differ subtly between dye lots, with natural variations in tone and speckling adding to its individual character. If you're purchasing yarn for a larger project, we recommend buying the quantity you need at the same time to ensure the closest possible match. Where multiple skeins are used in one project, alternating skeins every few rows can help create a beautifully blended finish.

We do our best to photograph colours as accurately as possible. However, colours may appear differently depending on your screen or device settings.
